I am a totally different person then I was in high school. I have no room to slack off or not do my work. I worked hard to get to where I am now, and it has made me the person I am today. I am a full-time student at NYU majoring in communications and public relations. I transferred last year from Millersville University in my hometown of Lancaster, PA. Getting into NYU was a very hard thing for me to do. I had to be dedicated and focused on my school work.l While most of my friends were going out and partying I was staying in my room doing homework, or studying in the library. Most nights I went to bed really early while everyone else was just getting read to go out. NYU is one of the top schools on the east side and they have one of the best journalism programs out there. They also offer their junior and senior students a chance to apply for an internship at one of New York City's elite magazines. That is part of the reason why I wanted to go to NYU. I wanted to apply, and hopefully get, an internship to Teen Vogue. Today is just another ordinary day, but an ever so amazing ordinary day, in my life. It is a tuesday morning; not my favorite day of the week. I woke up late and had to rush to get my hair and makeup done, and find a cute outfit to wear. Since moving to New York, I always tried to look my best. Sometimes I would get compliments on my appearance when I didn't even try, so I didn't put too much effort into getting ready in the morning. I threw on my favorite black skinny jeans, my hot pink Anberlin t-shirt, and my favorite black boots. I grabbed my books, threw my chanel bad over my shoulder, and ran out the door. I take a cab to school, just because I try to avoid the subways as much as possible. The cab service was hopping today, despite my waking up late. I hopped in the first cab that pulled over and found my good friend Benny. Benny has picked me up and dropped me off at school numerous mornings throughout my time at NYU. He has a nice italian accent and is so polite. I love anyone with an accent so I love hearing Benny talk. He knows the fastest route to get me to where I need to go. Arriving right on time at school and not a minute later, or earlier, is how i always appear. Out of breathe, my cheeks pink from the cold air, and my hair all over the place, I finally arrive at my first class, multimedia advertising. This is a nice relaxing class to start off my morning. My afternoons are busy with advanced writing classes, I end my school day at 2:10 p.m. with my public relations class. After school I usually run to starbucks, get myself a turkey and lettuce roasted sandwhich and a vanilla bean frappucino. Today I am meeting Lauren at startbucks, still getting my usually, but sitting outside on sidewalk of New York City.
